IAADP is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering assistance dog partners. It gives them a voice in the assistance dog field and enables individuals partnered with guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs to collaborate on issues of mutual concern.
Additionally, IAADP fosters the human-assistance dog partnership by providing benefits that help reduce the financial burden on people with disabilities.
The Challenge
The outdated legacy website presented significant challenges for users, especially those with disabilities or accessing it via mobile devices. Comprised of a cumbersome collection of HTML-pages created manually over decades by multiple volunteers, the site was extremely difficult to navigate and maintain.
When the pandemic struck, it became evident that the organization needed to transition to a digital-first model, prioritizing accessibility and streamlined online membership registration to thrive in the digital age.
Solution
Our work began with a deep discovery and planning phase, engaging stakeholders from various departments to outline the website’s goals, priorities, and potential risks.
Insights gathered from these interviews, alongside technology assessments, content audits, and analytics reviews, informed the creation of a new application architecture, user journeys, branding elements, content strategy, and marketing approaches.
The Result
We effectively implemented a digital transformation strategy, leading to a 95% adoption of automated member registration and intake processes compared to the previous entirely manual system.
The newly redesigned website is fully accessible and compliant with ADA/WCAG requirements, offering seamless subscriptions through user-friendly online forms, as well as streamlined online payment and donation processing.
