We created a fresh, modern look for the Friends’ website and implemented robust events & membership system
Services: Website Design, Digital Strategy, Maintenance & Support
The Friends of Philipse Manor Hall (FPMH) was founded in 1996 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the restoration and improvement of Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site, as well as raising public awareness and interest in its cultural and historical significance.
Located in downtown Yonkers, an area undergoing significant transformation with the development of new residential and retail spaces, FPMH plays a key role in preserving the heritage of this historic site. As a membership-based nonprofit, FPMH relies heavily on the support of its members and sponsors to fund the events and programming that bring Philipse Manor Hall to life for the community.

The Challenge
In 2022, New York State invested over $20 million in enhancing the Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site, upgrading both the building and exhibits.
These improvements introduced interactive displays, QR code technology, and enhanced accessibility features, including a new elevator and Virtual Wing exhibits.
While these upgrades established Philipse Manor as the premier museum in the Lower Hudson Valley, the Friends’ website lagged behind, lacking relevant content, interactivity and accessibility, and was in urgent need of a redesign.
LIMIT8 was selected to lead the project, overseeing a comprehensive rebranding, website redesign, and the implementation of a new technology stack, including membership and donor management, fundraising, and marketing automation tools.

Solution
We conducted multiple discovery sessions with the Board to gather their insights on the organization’s 30+ year history, its impact, and its vision for the future. Using this information, we defined key priorities and developed a comprehensive digital strategy. Through close collaboration with the Friends, we restructured membership tiers, costs, and benefits, introducing new opportunities for corporate sponsors.
Additionally, we redesigned the website’s information architecture to align with actual user journeys, ensuring seamless navigation. While retaining the original logo, we gave the Friends’ website a complete visual overhaul, creating a cohesive design that reflects and complements the museum’s identity.

The Result
We developed a refreshed visual identity, redesigned the website, and enhanced its functionality by integrating a robust member management system, event ticketing, and donation features.
Additionally, we implemented targeted marketing strategies and continue to provide ongoing support to ensure sustained success.
As a result, the client experienced a significant increase in website traffic, membership registrations, and event sign-ups. The new website now serves as a strong foundation for future growth.
